Two Big Things Hitting Central Iowa Next Week: Farm Progress Show and Cyclone Kickoff

Late summer in Central Iowa always has this one stretch where the ag world and the college-town energy collide, and this year it lands right on top of each other again.

Farm Progress Show — Sept. 1-3, Central Iowa Expo
This is one of the largest outdoor farm equipment and technology shows in the country, and it rotates back to Central Iowa on a regular cycle. If you’re anywhere near ag or rural land ownership, it’s worth attending even if you’re not shopping for new equipment — it’s a good read on where farm technology and land use are heading, which matters if you’re thinking about buying, selling, or holding acreage in Story County.

Ag and rural land is a big part of what I do, and shows like this are where a lot of good conversations happen — about land values, what’s changing in how farms are run, and what that means for anyone weighing a purchase or sale in the next few years.

Cyclone Football Season Opener — Sept. 5, Jack Trice Stadium
